Google Public PageRank Update
So Google springs a minor surprise, with an update of public PR after approx 2 months, rather than the 3 months we had become accustomed to. This after the rather wayward schedule of 2007.
And so the (conspiracy) theories come out of the woodwork.
- It’s going to be done more frequently and regularly anyway - no hard evidence
- The present Google algorithm in some way ‘needs’ more frequent public PR update - bit unlikely, this one…
- The timing - close to the end of the month - is designed to mess with 3rd parties who use PR as a ranking index for blog payments (text links, etc. etc.) and calculate/make payouts at the end/start of the month - not completely out of the question…
Any more bright ideas, as if it mattered…? Unless your revenue depends on it, try and ignore public PageRank wherever possible - it’s a fool’s errand…
