No travel, no lectures - and you get a Foundation degree at the end of it all.

It’s been quite a while since I was a student - and yes, things were a bit different then - so today’s site is the cutting edge of education how it is this millenium. If you want the flexible option in starting over and getting an Online Degree in entrepreneurship, business management, marketing or sales, then read on…

Kaplan Open Learning college is an affiliate college of Essex university - it’s a college for distance learning, all the studying undertaken online, and similarly with tutor groups, seminars etc. The only travelling involved is to graduation, and that appears optional. In some ways, perhaps, the Open University taken to the next level.
If you have a job, kids and a mortgage to keep sorted out, it’s possibly the only viable option to get a qualification under your belt. These courses are - clearly - designed to attract those further along their career path, looking for a change - nice in that case that you won’t have to attend any lectures, amongst revolting young students …

One serious positive that didn’t immediately occur to me is that, unlike the old days, you don’t have wait until October time to begin the course - get started within weeks, is the promise on the site. The keynote is flexibility, and you get to have some say over how quickly you attempt to complete the course, including how many modules you take at a time.

It is explicitly stated that, as well as any academic qualifications, previous work experience is taken into account in being accepted onto a course. I presume, though couldn’t find exact clarification that this is a world-wide deal, not just for the UK prospective student, so open to all in that regard.

There is a fair amount of Superfluous Capitalisation and few typos on the site, but that goes with the territory, does it not … and old duffers such as myself certainly have to have something to whinge about …
