Fact is, with broadband or ADSL or whatever you call it where you live, we do more and more with the net-based applications as opposed to leaving everything on the desktop - (which can’t be making Microsoft the happiest of companies).

Of all the affiliate programs in all the world… it’s sometimes like that, or so it would seem given the plethora of competing sites that has grown up in the last couple of years. Whereas before, the market was controlled by its leaders, it has fractured and chains of affiliates - each taking their percentage - are starting to appear.

Kids today…. think they know everything etc. - and while they are off with their latest gadget that allows internet roaming, some iPodPhone thing or other, and they rack up vast phone bills finding out about Britney Spears, what are we ancient business types going to do? Sometimes you do need your own disk drive at your fingertips with a little more information than the average gadget memory.

Just noticed that Google maps now has information on bus stop location, each with a list of alleged buses available in the infomarker.
Not good news if you actually wanted to catch a bus, but the saving grace for anyone concerned about the all-seeing eye of the 2 Mr Google’s deep in their underground lair, is that the information is completely wrong… (at the moment). There’s a bus stop there, but it sure as hell doesn’t have those bus numbers stopping at it.
Having a lot of work stacked up and nothing fun to do, I decided to ignore the work and give Habari a test installation on a localhost, just play around with it for an hour or two and see what the deal was with the core code.
To be scrupulously fair, these vague observations are the product of an hour or so, and of course, not authoritative in that regard. Against this, I have no great love for the present direction of WordPress… 2.5 seems laudable in most ideas, but not quite the finished version at present - there is still the spectre of bloat here, and I don’t think viable competition would do WordPress any harm at all.

Something that has a look of a network, or even a portal, as we used to say - very nice in the design on the page, but the important part is the content, is it not …
Auto News & Reviews and Financial News have an established look to them - and yes, the articles are (generally) a cut above the standard fare available elsewhere. A definite North American slant in most cases, but that might just a function of the particular niche category.

I’ve got a WordPress blog, should I go to the trouble of setting up a (Google) sitemap for it?
No.
Why not?
The clue is in Google’s “locate web pages our spiders might not otherwise find…” - that’s what a sitemap does, and WordPress, if and when set up properly in its permalink structure will do the job just as well. read more »
