Your WordPress blog - Google neighborhood
Pros in the SEO business will laugh hollowly at this, but don’t forget about the related site search function - it’s in the webmaster tools, or just type it in.

It does no harm to try out some different TLDs

And it throws up some interesting, electic and dubious results - not least a few links on your own domain, which is fairly obvious…
Basically, it’s where Google thinks you are - and not always quite where you should be, in terms of neighborhood - a rough gauge of the relevant keyword footprint of your site.
And it’s also the place to start, if you want good-quality incoming links to your site. Using your skill, judgment and good taste, find ways of getting a link back to you on these sites, some may be easy, some may not…
Then broaden the search - do a related search for these sites and repeat the process - in SEO terms will still be firming up the niche your site occupies, increasing relevance. At a guess, you, can be more free and easy about the anchor text of these links, because you’ve got the relevance already - you don’t want every backlink to your WordPress blog to have the same anchor text.
It’s by no means perfect, but over time definitely gives you an idea of how the system works…
