Azoogle and US Tax Legislation
Some disquiet from WordPress bloggers and webmasters who don’t happen to be located in the US on the subject of companies, demanding personal information to be supplied to the US government involving US tax legislation.
Azoogle is an example - which happens to be located in the US, but does make a point of saying in its literature that it caters for webmasters in some European countries, Australia, Israel etc.
Reasonably, people are saying that they don’t want their personal details supplied to a foreign government with no legal existence in their own country, maybe to be perused 15, 20 years later - it’s a personal data thing (again).
Google seems to manage without furnishing all this information, also Comission Junction - why not others?
Quite a few bloggers now are taking the next step into the murky world of affiliate marketing and sticking up a few flashing banners and also writing posts with text links etc. - whether you think the pure and spotless world of blogging should be corrupted in this way, it’s not being made any easier for them by this…
