WordPress 2.5 Good stuff and bugs

By Lewis Wolfe, Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Well, just given version 2.5 a good try out on a XAMPP install. Aside of the usual, everything’s changed so I don’t know where anything is - which should be ignored - there’s definitely work gone in, the password hash is now (visibly) salted, presumably wasn’t before, also I love and adore the revised editor, and the glorious lack of paragraphs inserted gratis and totally unwanted…

I’m sure the media gallery functions are a fine step forward - the one big problem is that I can’t use them at all on Firefox 2.x  with the screen at 800px width -  the AJAX, I suspect, is preventing  access to the kind of useful “Save Changes” button at the bottom. Haven’t checked in detail, but it looks very much as if there’s Lightbox involved.

We are not all in our teens or 20’s - I prefer to use 800px width to wearing reading glasses all the working day, or using font scaling. It won’t be too long, but it’s not just yet…

I hear that!! I keep thinking about what I’m going to do in 10 years. I’ll need a HUGE monitor. :-)
